United DFC Need to Know: August 14 - August 20, 2025
Welcome to United DFC’s weekly Need To Know newsletter. Our aim is to keep you informed about everything that is going on inside the club. Watch for your update every Wednesday.
JERSEY RETURN
When your player's season is done, please return their jersey(s) to the team manager or coach (whoever collected your deposits). Once this is done, you will receive your deposit back. We are not allowing players to keep their jerseys at this time as this is still a new system that we're rolling out and we need all of our jerseys back.
If you have lost a jersey, we need to know ASAP so we can have it replaced in time for the next team and season. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR JERSEY TO THE OFFICE unless you have pre arranged it with the manager.
The front desk staff are not involved in the jersey program and it will possibly create confusion and potential problems.

Join the Halifax Wanderers for an Open Practice & Autograph Session!
We’re excited to invite you to an open practice with the Halifax Wanderers on Thursday, August 21st from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Stick around afterward for a Q&A and autograph session with a few of the players!
As a bonus, each youth attending will receive a FREE ticket to the Wanderers’ match the next day — Friday, August 22nd vs. Valour FC.
This is a great opportunity for teams or families to enjoy a fun outing together. Please share with your club members — we hope to see you there!
Awards Night Member Nominations - Celebrating Our Soccer Community

UDFC is incredibly proud of our exceptional volunteer base, dedicated players, and outstanding teams. The programs we deliver are only possible because of amazing members who generously give their time and talents in countless ways.
Help Us Recognize Excellence
Do you know a current or former UDFC member who deserves special recognition? Whether they're young or seasoned, coach or player, volunteer or manager - we want to hear about the people who make our club extraordinary.
What This Form Is For:
- Club-wide nominations for major UDFC awards (such as Coach of the Year out all UDFC coaches)
- Open to anyone in the club to complete
- Recognize outstanding coaches, managers, volunteers, and players across the entire organization
Please Note: Team staff will use a separate form to nominate players from their own individual teams. THIS FORM is specifically for major club-wide recognition.
Selection Process: A panel will carefully evaluate all nominations and select award winners prior to Awards Night. While not everyone nominated will win, every nomination helps us celebrate the incredible people in our community. Winners will be notified in advance.

ECV Dome - Practice Field Etiquette & Safety Reminder
When attending practices at the ECV Dome, we ask that all children who are not participating in the session remain on the sidelines and do not enter the practice areas at any time. This includes siblings and children of spectators.
It’s crucial that parents closely supervise their children, as having non-participating kids on the field is not only distracting to the players and coaches but also poses a serious safety risk. With balls being struck at high speeds and players moving quickly, a child wandering onto the field could easily be injured.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping keep the training environment safe and focused for everyone involved.

Gk Training
We’re excited to announce that summer goalkeeper training has officially started! This specialized program is a great opportunity for our keepers to sharpen their skills and build confidence between the posts.
📍 Location: Cole Harbour Turf
All goalkeepers are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this focused training led by our experienced Goalkeeping staff Keith Partridge.

UDFC's greatest strength is its community. The club is actively looking for Sponsors or Partners to help reduce the cost of delivering - or enhancing - programs. Gear Collection
We are currently accepting new or gently used gear at our office that you no longer need. Any gear dropped off will be offered to any members who are in need. We will accept cleats, shin pads, gently used socks, shorts, training shirts, jerseys (GK jerseys too!) , tracksuits, hoodies, etc. as long as it is still in good condition.
