The objective of the summer Mini Soccer Program is to provide our U3-U8 year old players with a fun, safe, and enjoyable environment which allows them to explore and learn the game. The program is designed to incorporate lots of contact and time with the ball and will emphasize fun, games, and physical literacy development. Depending on the number of participants, groups may be boys, girls and/or co-ed.

The U10C and U12C programs are designed for ease and consistency of schedule. Practice and games will be at the same time and night every week this summer. This is for players who want to play competitive games in a more relaxed, fun environment where they are able to play with their friends in their local community. These programs are ideal for players who are not interested in the performance pathway or unable to commit as much time. Coaching will be at a minimum with a focus on playing games.

United DFC’s Skill Centre programs are designed to provide the players with a fun, social experience that continues to grow a love for soccer as well as teaching the fundamental and foundational developmental aspects of soccer. Skills Centre is part of our competitive development pathway for UDFC players.

The U12 Pre-Performance Program is designed for players who intend to graduate into the performance pathway with United DFC. This program demands more commitment from players in comparison to the community/recreation stream and is designed with the intention to develop players into our competitive stream of U13AA and 13A.
This program will consist of 2 x practices per week and games in the NSSL U12A or 12B divisions. The United DFC pre-performance program is aligned with Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards.

The United DFC B Programs from U13-U18 will compete in the Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL) outdoor league.
All United DFC Coaches will be properly qualified and on-boarded in order to ensure that we as a club adhere to the standards & principles set by Soccer Nova Scotia & Canada Soccer.
All coaches must apply to coach within this program and all applicants will be screened and reviewed in order to ensure that they meet all of the requirements of United DFC & Canada Soccer. These requirements include: the age-stage specific grassroots training/course, making ethical decisions, respect in sport, making headway and emergency action plan. These qualification standards can be found under the Coaching Qualification section of the Canada Soccer Grassroots standards, found here.

The United DFC High-Performance AAA Program runs for 9-10 months per year (assessment period dependent), with a commitment of up to 3x trainings per week, 1 conditioning per week (12 weeks, Jan-March) and 1 game per week during competition times (April-Sept). In addition, UDFC will facilitate mental skills performance training throughout the season
