Program Overview

United DFC’s Active Start Mini Soccer Program is designed for 5 and 6-year-olds, offering fun, game-based sessions that build soccer skills, physical literacy, confidence, and teamwork. Players train twice per week in an age-appropriate environment that keeps learning active and engaging.

This summer features a World Cup theme, plus special club events like Soccermania and Soccer by the Sea, making it a season full of fun, friendships, and memorable soccer moments.

This program is generously sponsored by Tim Hortons and includes a Tim Hortons jersey, shorts, socks, ball and medal.

Program cost: $200

U5 (Born 2021) - Mini Active Start
U6 (Born 2020) - Mini Active Start
Boys, Girls, and Co-ed options available
Open registration - all players welcome

Program Structure & Commitment

Two sessions per week
Schedule options:

Monday & Wednesday or
Tuesday & Thursday

Session length: 45 minutes

Session time: 6:00 - 6:45 PM

Coaching & Support

Teams are coached by volunteer and parent coaches, supported by United DFC summer staff. The club provides:

Age-appropriate session plans
On-field setup and support
Simple, consistent programming across all locations

Volunteer coaches receive an end-of-season incentive. No prior coaching experience is required.

Player Selection Policy

No evaluations or team selection. All children are welcome.

Weeks of June 8 & 15: Team photos at the field
July 10: Soccermania / World Cup Festival
August 15: Soccer by the Sea - Year-End Festival
August 17 / 18: Final sessions
