Program Overview
United DFC’s U8/9 FUNdamentals Neighbourhood Community Program balances skill development, physical literacy, and fun in a supportive team environment. Players take part in two sessions per week- one focused practice and one festival-style game night featuring 5v5 play against other United DFC teams.
The program emphasizes Fun, Friendship, and Skill Development, with a World Cup theme for the 2026 season, and no weekend commitments except for special events such as Soccermania and Soccer by the Sea.
This program is NOT sponsored by Tim Hortons. Players will receive a T-shirt jersey to keep.
PROGRAM COST: $270

- U8 (Born 2018)
- U9 (Born 2017)
- Boys and Girls options available
- Open registration - all players welcome
Coaching & Support
Teams are led by volunteer and parent coaches, supported by United DFC summer staff. The club provides:
- Age-appropriate session plans
- On-field setup and support
- Consistent programming across all locations
Volunteer coaches receive an end-of-season incentive. No prior coaching experience is required.
Training & Game Structure
- Two sessions per week
- One skill development practice
- One festival-style game night
- Session length: 55 minutes
- Time: 6:55 - 7:50 PM
- On festival nights, both games are played at the same location
Field Options
Families select one field location at registration.
- Cole Harbour High - Monday & Wednesday only
- Dartmouth High - Tuesday & Thursday only
- Eastern Passage (Seaside) - Tuesday & Thursday only
- Portland Estates - Tuesday & Thursday only
All sessions run from 6:55-7:50 PM.

Player Selection Policy
Open registration. All players welcome.
Key Dates
- May 4: Last day to submit friend requests
- May 30: Mini Gear Pick-Up
- June 1: Sessions begin (pending field availability)
- Weeks of June 8 & 15: Team photos at the field
- July 10: Soccermania / World Cup Festival
- August 15: Soccer by the Sea - Year-End Festival
- August 17 / 18: Final sessions
