U15AAA Boys High-Performance Stream
Fall/Winter 2021-22 powered by Talent Reel
About the Program:
United DFC High-Performance U15AAA Boys will begin their Fall/Winter training after Thanksgiving in October 2021 and will be aimed towards the first extended Nova Scotia Soccer 11 v 11 League in Spring 2022.
Before that, they will have a winter training block and 7 v 7 Exhibition games in January-March 2022. This project is designed to give them the necessary skill set and physicality to deal with the AAA High-Performance environment.
As we have created a new U16AAA Boys squad and current U14AAA Head Coach Jamie Leck is stepping back from his duties we are currently seeking a new Head Coach at this level.
The new candidate will be mentored by Technical Director (Youth/Senior) Iain King, a UEFA A Licence and Canadian Youth Licence coach, and assisted until February 2022 by UDFC High-Performance Training Ambassador Josh Bowser.
Josh played NCAA Division One soccer at DePaul University in the States and is also a former All-American Academic selection.
Added Program Value 2021:
In the Summer block of this Program our AAA players, both male and female, enjoyed expert tuition from Professor Sebastian Harenberg of St Francis Xavier University on Sports Psychology.
They were also given advice on nutrition from leading expert in the field Alfredo Angione.
These links will continue to be developed in Fall/Winter and we will enhance also the content from our partners at ACCEL Physiotherapy on Mental Performance, Injury Prevention and Nutrition. We also added dedicated goalkeeping sessions to the Programs which will continue throughout Fall/Winter.
Any parent of a player wishing to try out for a slot on the U15AAA Boys should in the first instance email Technical Director Iain King on firstname.lastname@example.org to begin the process.
The player will then be invited into a week of sessions by the coaching staff that will see them assessed in at least two practices.
After this a decision will be taken between coaching staff and TD on whether the offer of a slot should be made and the player/parents will be informed. If a slot is not offered then detailed feedback will be given on the areas the player would need to improve upon to reach AAA level.
Player Selection Policy:
In common with all United DFC AAA streams, entry to this program is by INVITATION ONLY which is strictly adhered to. Unless you receive an invitation email from our Technical Director (Youth/Senior) Iain King then please do NOT attempt to register your child at this level.
Please note the following Four-Point Approach:
All children wishing to try out for our AAA programs will be given the chance in Open Development Sessions held over October and early November.
The Four Corners of the game – Technical, Tactical, Psychological and Social – are pondered when deciding a players’ suitability to the Program.
The players are monitored throughout the previous season both in training and in matches using the club’s VEO analysis system.
The Team Coaches, who have been in contact throughout the year, then have a final meeting with the Technical Directors to decide the make-up of each squad.
