EXTENDED BREAK TECHNICAL PROGRAM

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT OUTLINE

As we adapt to the latest COVID-19 restrictions and hope for a quick Return To Play I wanted to assure all of our players, coaches and parents in the United DFC family that you remain very much in the thoughts of the Technical Staff.

Today we launch our Technical Program to help the girls and boys stay on the ball and engaged in the Beautiful Game. So here’s how it works:

  • There is an Extended Break Technical Program schedule document that you have been provided with which shows an itinerary for the week linked to three special Ball Mastery videos.

  • In that Technical Program document, we have designed seven special Technical Challenges for the players to attempt, master and complete.

  • The players have the option of showing us how good they are getting by sending a video to info@udfc.ca or their Team Head Coach. These videos will be entered into a special weekly prize draw so the players have a chance to be rewarded for their dedication.

This technical work was originally designed and constructed during my time at North Toronto Nitros Soccer Club. I’d like to thank my former Technical Director Billy Wilson and my old coaching colleague Jesse Assing, who you can see showing his skills in the videos we shot, for their help in sharing this project. This is how youth club coaching should work, collaborating together for the good of the kids Canada-wide.
We will set new Technical Challenges every two weeks and progress the program when we need to.

Please have the kids engage with this Program, work on their touch and keep everyone on the ball – even if it wrecks your backyard….

Stay safe, see you soon on the fields,

All4One,

Iain King,

Technical Director (Youth and Senior)
