THE PRE-SEASON BREAKS

SPRING/SUMMER 2022

HOW THEY WORK

SKILL CENTRE TEAMS

Our final Skill Centre sessions for the Fall/Winter Season will be on Friday April 1.
In common with all of our squads March Break is mandated club time off and there will be no training club wide from March 14-18.

The teams will go on break for the rest of April with the Spring/Summer squads returning to training on the week beginning Monday May 2.

This gives the Skill Centre division a month-long pre-season before our SC Festivals begin on the weekend of Saturday May 28.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAM AND PRE-PERFORMANCE TEAMS

Our U12A Boys and Girls, U13AA Boys and Girls, U15AA Boys and Girls and U18AA Boys and Girls will have their final training sessions for the Fall/Winter season on Friday March 11.

In common with all of our squads March Break is mandated club time off and there will be no training club wide from March 14-18.

The teams will then go on break for the rest of March with the Spring/Summer squads returning to training on the week beginning Monday April 4.

This gives these divisions of the club a short break then a month-long pre-season before their Nova Scotia Soccer League matches begin on the weekend of Saturday May 7.

A/B TEAMS

Our final A/B sessions for the Fall/Winter Season will be on Friday April 1.

In common with all of our squads March Break is mandated club time off and there will be no training club wide from March 14-18.

The teams will go on break for the rest of April with the Spring/Summer squads returning to training on the week beginning Monday May 2.

This gives the club's A/B teams a month-long pre-season before their league games begin on the weekend of Saturday May 28.

If your team doesn't want/require the extra time then you can end your season next week as originally scheduled, please indicate to Sam if you intend on using the extra time or not. The extra sessions are there mainly for the teams who experienced stoppages due to covid and weather, or who just want as much time on the ball as possible.

SENIOR WOMEN’S AND MEN’S PREMIERSHIP TEAMS

Our Senior Women’s and Men’s Premiership teams will have their final training sessions for the Fall/Winter season on Friday March 11.

In common with all of our squads March Break is mandated club time off and there will be no training club wide from March 14-18.

The teams will then go on break for the rest of March with the Spring/Summer squads returning to training on the week beginning Monday April 4.

This gives these divisions of the club a month-long pre-season before their Nova Scotia Soccer League matches begin on the weekend of Saturday May 7.

AAA HIGH PERFORMANCE TEAMS

Our AAA High Performance teams are currently in pre-season mode ahead of the kick-off of the new standards-based league on Friday March 25.

In common with all of our squads March Break is mandated club time off and there will be no training club wide from March 14-18.

With other United DFC programs on break in March and April our AAA squad will have an altered training schedule for these two key months to ensure we make the maximum use of the turf time that we have.

A schedule for March will be circulated to six AAA groups on Tuesday March 1 with April following later in the week.

When all club teams return to action by May the AAA programs will then settle into their core Summer Schedule for May-August.

    ·    PLEASE NOTE: The Mandated Summer Break for our AAA teams is Monday July 25-Sunday August 7.
