Dear UDFC Families:
As follow up to Friday's notice from Soccer Nova Scotia regarding the response to COVID-19, United DFC has and continues to review the impact to current and upcoming summer programs.
We acknowledge that the COVID-19 Pandemic is new for all of us and the direction to minimize its impact is changing rapidly; requiring us to be adaptable and flexible. Recognizing this, United DFC have made some short term decisions and conducted contingency planning based on what we know today. This is our first update and we will provide another update on Monday, April 6th with our next steps based on direction from the Province, Soccer Nova Scotia and Canada Soccer.
Your health and the health of your family is our first priority. We understand that most of us are still trying to evaluate its impact on our personal and professional lives. Regarding soccer programming, we are adjusting our schedules by shifting the deadlines ahead so that you can concentrate on your families. All soccer activity will continue to be suspended until further direction from Soccer Nova Scotia and Canada Soccer. In the meantime our Board and Staff are continuing to monitor the situation and are continuing with summer programming preparations.
An update on the following is included within this message:
Scheduled Events in March/April
Come Try Soccer
March Break Camp
Mini Spring Program
U15 & U17 AAA Programs
All summer programs are still available for registration from U3 to Senior programs for all levels of soccer. Visit https://udfc.demosphere-
The registration deadline for the Performance programs will be extended to March 31 for those players interested in playing at the U12 Prospects, U12 Whitecaps, and the U13-18 A & AA levels. Team lists for A & AA teams will be posted on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
In the event that summer programs are cancelled before they commence, a full refund will be issued to all registrants.

The final week of the remaining winter programming, including the SNS Weekend, has been cancelled.
Adult Kick Around:
The UDFC ‘Adult Kick Around’ sessions have been cancelled while soccer activity has been suspended.
Mini Spring Program:
The start date for the UDFC Mini Spring Program set to begin March 14, is now postponed until April 18. Our April 6th update will advise on this direction.
AAA Programs (U14AAA, U15AAA, and U17AAA):
With our AAA programs having already been in progress, and with regular-season NSSL AAA games originally scheduled to kick off this upcoming week, there will now be a delayed start to NSSL AAA games if and when soccer activity resumes. As a club, we are investigating and considering various contingency options available. These plans will be dependent on the length of the suspensions and the options available to the NSSL.
The financial impact to any current or planned programs will be assessed after the suspension or the direction is changed. At that time, United DFC will assess our commitments and previous obligations, and then be in a position to communicate this with our members. Please be patient with us as these are unprecedented times for us all.
As indicated above, your health is of the utmost importance to all of us. We are including the below links that are available through the Province on various best practices to maintain your health and help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This information includes recommendations on proper hand hygiene practices, cough etiquette, and environmental cleaning for facilities.
If you are self-isolating as a result of returning from travel outside Canada, the Alberta government has produced a helpful guide:
We will continue to monitor notices from the Province, Canada Soccer and Soccer Nova Scotia. Unless future notices change our plans, the next update from the club will be Monday, April 6, 2020.
