Uniform note*

• UDFC own the uniforms. The club hands them out at the beginning of the year and collects them at the end of the year and charges a rental fee of $20/season. 
• The $20 rental fee needs to be paid on the front end of the registration process. 
• The club takes a $40 deposit, which will be cashed if both jerseys do not come back at the end of the season. Please hand the deposit off to you manager at the beginning of the year once teams are formed. 
• Socks and shorts can be purchased via Level Up. The club does not manage inventory internally. 

About the Program

The U12 & U13 Program is designed for players who intend to graduate into the performance pathway with United DFC. This program demands more commitment from players in comparison to the community/recreation stream and is designed with the intention to develop players into our competitive stream of U15 AAA, AA, and A level teams. 

This program will consist of 2 x practices per week and games in the Nova Scotia Soccer League. 

Scores and standings will be kept in memorable events for both U12 and U13 aged players. Leagues keep score for balancing purposes but do not post the results. 

The United DFC pre-performance program is aligned with Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards.

Player Selection Policy

At this stage and on this stream of the United DFC player pathway, the U12 & U13 teams see and experience the team formations for the first time at UDFC. 

After graduating from the Skill Centre programs or from previous stage streams, players who register for this program will be placed on teams at the appropriate tiered levels. Players may register/sign up for the U12 & U13 AA program, although it is the decision of the UDFC Technical Staff and Coaches as to which players are placed on/selected for these teams. Within this program, the players may be tiered into either the ‘AA’ or the ‘A’ team. The teams will play in their respective AA or A divisions in the NSSL.

Players may also be directed to the ‘B’ level.

Players who are not selected for their desired team, may request assessment sessions from the team Coach & UDFC Technical Staff. The UDFC Technical Staff will ensure that the player is placed in the most developmentally appropriate environment. 

Players who are not placed on the U12 & U13 AA & A teams have the opportunity to play in other spaces such as the Community stream (U12B & U13B). United DFCs objective is to provide opportunities for players to move between various levels and environments as they develop further down the player pathway. 

Training & Games

U12AA & U13AA: 2 sessions per week (on turf) + 1 game 

U12A & U13A: 2 sessions per week (1 on turf and 1 in gym) + 1 game

Coaches

All United DFC Coaches will be properly qualified and on-boarded in order to ensure that we as a club adhere to the standards & principles set by Soccer Nova Scotia & Canada Soccer. 

All coaches must apply to coach within this program and all applicants will be screened and reviewed in order to ensure that they meet all of the requirements of United DFC & Canada Soccer. These requirements include: the age-stage specific grassroots training/course, making ethical decisions, respect in sport, making headway and emergency action plan.
